RAYE Says 1.8 Million Sign-Ups Swamped Her 5,000-Seat Show
RAYE said her October 23 Royal Albert Hall show received 1.8 million sign-up entries for 5,000 seats. She blamed hundreds of thousands of fake registrations on ticket touts using AI bots and said her team would manually review the list. The general sale is scheduled for October 15, though the announcement does not state how many seats will remain.

RAYE says the sign-up list for her one-night Royal Albert Hall show drew 1.8 million registrations for 5,000 seats. In a statement on Tuesday, October 13, she said hundreds of thousands of those entries were fake registrations made by ticket touts using AI bots. Her team would manually review the list and choose a shortlist it believed were genuine fans. Sky News quoted her Instagram statement.
The show, titled This Symphony May Contain Hope, is scheduled for October 23. Simon Jones PR's announcement describes it as a one-night symphonic reimagining of RAYE's March 2026 album, performed with her band, the Heritage Orchestra and Flames Collective. It follows her My 21st Century Symphony performance at the Hall in 2023, which was filmed for the music film Live At The Royal Albert Hall.
What changed in the presale
The show announcement listed an artist presale for October 13. The sign-up form, hosted by co:brand, closed at 5 p.m. BST on October 12, according to Music Business Worldwide. RAYE then said her team would manually review the list and choose a shortlist rather than send the presale route to every registration.
In the full statement reproduced by Music Business Worldwide, RAYE said selected fans would receive an email with a presale link and code at 11:45 a.m. BST before the noon sale. She also said people without a code could try the general sale. Her stated goal was to give genuine fans a chance to buy at face value. She described this as the solution for this show and said the experience would inform how she thinks about ticketing in the future.
Manual review determined who received an access link; ticket sales were handled on the Hall's ticketing site.
What 1.8 million sign-ups can show
Compared with 5,000 seats, 1.8 million registrations works out to 360 sign-ups per seat. That is a simple ratio, not a count of 360 genuine fans competing for each ticket. RAYE said hundreds of thousands of registrations were fake. The public reports reviewed do not provide an independent audit of the count or the criteria used to classify entries.
Music Business Worldwide, citing music publication IQ, reported that the Royal Albert Hall ticket page received 5 million access requests when the presale opened. Buyers could not complete purchases for 45 minutes while the Hall investigated the interruption. Access requests describe traffic reaching the page; they do not tell readers how many unique people tried to buy or how many orders were completed.
The Hall also said it blocks millions of bot requests. A July 2024 venue post, cited by Music Business Worldwide, reported more than 38 million blocked requests in one 24-hour period. That historical figure covers the venue's broader online activity, not RAYE's registration form or the presale queue.
The three figures measure different things: registrations before the presale, access requests during the sale, and venue-wide requests blocked in a separate 2024 period. They should not be added or read as a count of ticket buyers. Sky describes a ticket-scalping bot as software that tries to buy faster than human users and resell; the reports do not identify the tools or operators behind the sign-ups.
What fans can check next
The promoter's event listing shows the general sale on Thursday, October 15, at 10 a.m. BST and currently labels it "on sale soon." RAYE said any remaining tickets would be available to the public then, but the listing does not give an inventory count.
The concert remains scheduled for October 23 at the Royal Albert Hall. The public announcements do not show how many seats were assigned to the artist presale or how many will be released in the general sale.
